David announced that after about 30 years of playing he was retiring to focus on his new career. He’s training to be a Psychologist.
This was his penultimate gig so he was being a wee bit self indulgent but we didn’t mind. He brought along the original David Cunningham Junior line up of Graham Berry( keyboard) and Ian Adamson (drums), and also his father David Snr (accordion) and son Scott (drums). Scott and Ian played alternately for 3 dances each during the night.
David and his Father have fond memories of playing for the Castle Club. David Snr. played as part of The Olympians and also as David Cunningham and his Band for the first 30 years or so then on his retirement David Jnr stepped in.
A great evening of music enjoyed by all the dancers and just as importantly by the musicians themselves.
